I was just recently introduced to this lovely Fishwrapper newspaper. Some old issues were placed at Twin Stream Campground, Morris, PA in the laundry room. Nice way to 'recycle' wholesome material. Traveled along Rt 501 on my way home, passing thru Myerstown; lovely scenic area. Thx to the editor & publisher of this neat little paper.
Dear Editor Gingrich & the Fishwrapper staff: Thank you for your marvelous regular publication. By God's blessed providence, yesterday our family found your wonderful publication when we "just happened" to be visiting the Lancaster area for a few hours and picked up a free copy. What a breath of fresh air is provided in your content! I am placing this first merchandise order with much joy and will be talking with my husband soon about placing a subscription order also. We live some distance away and surely will not find any copies of The Fishwrapper locally and, though I realize you've generously made it available on-line, I'm not certain that particular format would be best for us. Thank you again for your wonderful publication and especially your BOLDNESS in addressing head-on some of the extremely non-educational "sports & entertainment" foolishness that is pursued with an amazingly unquestioned blindness within many of (most of?) today's institutional schools.
Just wanted to thank the fishwrapper team for printing something worth reading. We need more "good news", and christian influence all over......Im a 30 year old mother of two and our whole family enjoys this paper...Thank You!!
I have just recently discovered your newspaper, and I wanted to let you know how very, very much I am enjoying reading it. It is so uplifting and I especially havde enjoyed the story of Jack the homeless man. Keep up the good work, I know at least 3 people on my Christmas shopping list I will be ordering subscriptions for.
When having lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord, I picked up a free copy of the Fishwrapper and was pleasantly surprised with the excellent articles. My Wife and I reside 60 miles away...looking forward to being able to read your publication twice a month. Keep up the good work
Thanks again for making Christmas shopping easy for my dad. He loves it (The Fishwrapper)!! My mom tells me he sits right down, when an issue comes and reads it thru! They save any special issues and pass them on to others. Thanks again for such a neat mailing.
Thanks so much for your service! Out of all the places I advertised for my open house, the Fishwrapper generated the most response, The Fishwrapper gets read
The ad went out on Friday. “As of Monday Morning at 9Am we already had 6 calls from the Fishwrapper ad.”
I plan to use them [Precious Proverbs] in my English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. I've used several different articles from the Fishwrapper if I think they will spark good conversation. Not to mention, I really enjoy reading the Fishwrapper myself. Even though I no longer live in the area, I try to check in and read it online.
As regular visitors to the Lancaster area I have read many articles from the fish wrapper. I so enjoyed the paper I bought a book with many of the stories compiled within it. Best of luck to all those at the fish wrapper staff. Keep up the good work!
This Christmas I had given as a present along with all the others an Orange to my 8 grandchildren.I read to them along with the dinner blessing the story of the Orange and the kindness and sharing that we all should have toward each other.I think God pushed me into this reading at our Christmas dinner.I hope this story has moved into our hearts as much as it has mine.Thank you for your superb publication
I just read my first issue of fishwrapper, which I picked up in Lancaster county.I enjoyed reading the things in it (I don't read to many things, aside from the bible) but this,I just couldn't put it down. It is just great reading.
Although we live in Myerstown, we are snowbirds and go to FL for the winter and look forward to recieving the FISHWRAPPER and the pass them on to our Floridian friends.
During my drive from Connecticut to Tennessee, I pulled off of a highway and stopped at an old Inn/restaurant in Pennsylvania. There, on a tabletop, were copies of the previously unknown to me, Fishwrapper. The readings were fascinating and the spiritual messages, warming. While away in Tennessee I sent in a subscription request and just received Vol 17 Issue 5 in the mail. The lead story brought tears to my eyes and reinforced the reality that each of us is able to aid another, if I/we only make the effort to give of ourselves much in the same way as the "Good Samaritan" within the parable in the Bible. Thank you for your messages, humor, and especially the warming Spirit shared. John McAuliffe (retired)
Wholesome and speaks to the heart, Fishwrapper is a wonderful publication! I look forward to the paper every time I'm in the area. I hope you will repeat little Amos' plight in future editions, to insure others will come on board to help.
it is always fun to read the articles and usually during lunch, keep em coming really good.
I am so happy! My husband just found your site. My mother lives in Pennsylvania and the Fishwrapper is in all the local shops. I read every issue I can get a hold of when I visit her. Thank you so much for going on-line! I'll share your site with everyone I know it is so very worthwhile. Thank you so much for spreading God's word. Amen
I just finished reading "The Gift of Sight" in your Nov. 27, 2012 issue. This story tugged at my heart strings and gave me the peace of mind I have not had til now. When my husband passed away, he was an organ donor. However, due to his illness, they were only able to use his corneas. I pray that somewhere someone has had the same experiences as this gentleman and see the beauty in the world around them.
I just love getting the Fishwrapper. I really look forward to gatting the next one.
I REALLY ENJOY THE FISH WRAPPER, BUT I WAS ESPECIALLY GLAD TO SEE THE APRIL, 2013 ARTICLE:"HAVE WE LOST OUR PURPOSE." VERY GOOD. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOUR EDITOR. THANKS FOR THE GREAT ARTICLE.
The article about packing children's clothes in zip lock bags reminded me of the time my son went to camp. I packed his clothes in zip lock bags and he decided there was no need to change his clothes so the unpacking went fast because the clothes could be placed back in the drawers without the need to wash and dry. A time saver for Mom!
Although my husband and I lived in PA for 40 years before moving to Austria, I only recently discovered your delightful Fishwrapper. A friend sent me the Sept. 2013 issue knowing I adore hummingbirds. Since we're in Austria in Christian ministry, I'm thrilled that I can read it on-line. Thank you for your boldness for Christ.
We moved here to PA just a few years ago because of my husbands job. Coming from Colorado springs, quiet a large community, we were unsure how we would adapt to the small town life. With no family here, and not knowing anyone in the area, we ventured out into the community and discovered with delite, a feeling of times gone by. From the little home town grocery stores and bakerys, to the many diners and mom and pop run businesses. It was while visiting One of the best eateries in the area that I discovered the Fishwrapper. I probably read that paper 5 or6 times, not wanting to lose that feeling of stepping back in time. I, needless to say, do not miss an issue. I also keep them all and send them to our children, who live in different parts of the US. Thank you so much for the experience, the stories, Bible verses, and all around wonderful paper. Bless you and your staff.
So enjoyed the "Fishwrapper" on my visit to my daughter's family who just moved from NYC to Quarryville, PA. Your paper is an oasis of delightful homespun humor.
The editorial from the Jan. 6th issue "WHo is King" has become a part of my daily devotions. Reading it gives me direction and purpose to prioritize my life and remind me each day what is important. Thank you for all you do.
This article hit the mark. I wish everyone would read it.
My husband and I have been enjoying the paper for quite some time. It never ceased to amaze us! But, I need to know when you have visited my office? The article entitled A Clean Desk in the Feb, 9, 2016 issue so completely describes my desk that I thought I must have missed you visit. It could not have described my desk more accurately! The paper never ceases to make our day a bit warmer but, for some reason, this issue held more blessings then usual. Thank you so much to you and to all your advertisers. We patronize many of them.
In the last couple of years, I began walking to Jak's Diner in Topton, PA early Saturday morning for breakfast. I have found it to be good exercise, as it is about eight miles round trip, and a stress reliever, as the walk is on country roads, and during the rest of the week, I work in law enforcement. Breakfast at Jak's is both delicious and fairly priced, but what makes it even better is when I notice the new issue of The Fishwrapper sitting there, waiting to be read. I appreciate the Christian-oriented content, so it feeds me just as much, if not more, than the food itself. Thank you and God bless!
Whenever we travel to Pennsylvania, I always try to locate the Fishwrapper. I know that I'll keep them for as along as I can. On our latest trip, I happened to come upon your Volume 2, hence this current order for both Volumes 1 and 3. From another website, I ordered a complete set for our Pastor. He loved seeing my copy. Thank you for having Christianity in a local paper.
I so very much look forward to grabbing a copy each time I go to visit Lancaster County. This publication is so uplifting. I share it with many and I am delighted to now find it regularly on the web.
As a Volunteer Coordinator who is part of the Activities Dept., I can tell you that many volunteers use the Fishwrapper to read to residents who cannot read. I also know that sometimes an activity assistant will pick a theme and will read Fishwrapper stories related to that theme to residents as part of the regular 10 a.m or 2 p.m. daily activity conducted on each of our 7 floors. With over 400 residents, so many here who are able to read find the Fishwrapper stories quite comical, inspiring, encouraging, and it helps them pass the time. All our staff enjoy reading Fishwrapper too! Thank you for helping to keep our residents happy!”
My dear friend and co-worker used to get the Fishwrapper magazine and she would pass it along to me when she was done with them and I would pass them along to someone else. When she passed away her husband gave the remainder of her subscription until it ran out and I ordered it for myself. I enjoy the stories and inspiration so much and and I think of her everytime I get my magazine in the mail. Keep doing what you are doing and thank you so much for your magazine
I have to tell you - we have a group of plain people who moved to Wayne Co and they often make trips to your area and pick up your publication. I happen to do business with one of them for items to put in our gift shop and they were totally shocked to see our ad in the Fishwrapper. In just the few months that we have been advertising with you we have had more interest than some publications that we advertised in for a year.
I guess it's been ten years when my husband picked up a "Fish Wrapper while visiting Lancaster PA. about 3 or 4 years ago, I subscripted to the Fish Wrapper. He looks so forward to reading it. I discovered what to get him for Christmas, birthdays and other occasions. Thank you all for publishing such a wonderful publication. I've even brought him two volumes of the Grand Ole Fisher Wrapper Stories. Perfect gift for a man who is hard to buy for. A generous man who whether give then receive.
